His research lies in the fields of industrial economics, public finance (taxation) and health economics. His work explores the functioning of competition and how public intervention can correct market failures. He has a long-standing interest in the organization and regulation of healthcare industries. He has advised various government agencies and research institutions on competition and healthcare policies. At three different points in his career, he has been working with the French competition authority, notably as its chief economist and as a non-permanent member of the board. He is currently serving as head of research of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.groupe-genes.fr\/\">Genes group<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Biographie Rapide<\/h2>\n<p>Philippe Chon\u00e9 est professeur \u00e0 l&#8217;ENSAE, chercheur au CREST et research fellow du CEPR. Son domaine de recherche principal est l\u2019\u00e9conomie industrielle, mais il s&#8217;est aussi beaucoup int\u00e9ress\u00e9 \u00e0 des questions touchant \u00e0 la taxation optimale et \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9conomie de la sant\u00e9. Son travail explore le fonctionnement de la concurrence et comment les interventions publiques permettent de corriger les d\u00e9faillances des march\u00e9s. Il a conseill\u00e9 divers organismes publics et institutions de recherche en mati\u00e8re de politique de concurrence et de sant\u00e9. A trois stades de sa carri\u00e8re, il a travaill\u00e9 avec l\u2019Autorit\u00e9 de la concurrence, notamment comme chef \u00e9conomiste et comme membre du Coll\u00e8ge.
